September 2007 Member of the Month - Jeff Frazee

Captain Jeff Frazee is Loudoun County Volunteer Rescue Squad’s member of the month. Jeff was born and raised in Indiana by his parents, Rick and Wilma Frazee. Jeff attended Ball State University getting a degree in Industrial Technology Education, where he met his wife, Marni. They have been married for 16 ¾ years and have two children Keffen and Kira. Jeff is a technology resource teacher with Loudoun County Public Schools, at Broadrun High School, and has worked and lived in Loudoun County since August of 1992. Jeff joined the rescue squad in August of 1993. He has served in many capacities and positions throughout the years. Jeff currently is our Captain of Special Operations, which is responsible for the rescue, boats, bikes, utility and most recently the special events trailer. He is also on the IT Committee with David Simsik.
Jeff is a multi- talented person bringing his technology background into the rescue squad. Jeff is responsible for getting the email system up and running through gmail. He has streamlined the audio/ visual equipment in the training room. Directions are now posted, so members can use this equipment with ease. During the August Board of Directors meeting, Jeff filled in as Secretary. His biggest and most time consuming accomplishment last month was getting the special events trailer online for Lucketts Fair. If it wasn’t for Jeff’s innovative thinking, we wouldn’t have the special events trailer we do today. There are 3 EMS backpacks (2 BLS, 1 ALS) made specifically for walking/hiking that he stocked, located in the trailer. He created two supports inside the trailer that will hold cots for patients, along with bracket supports. He attached a functional awning (at no cost to us) to the outside of the trailer and solicited the help of Butch Mellot for electrical hookups. All this work took many, many hours to accomplish! Jeff was even able to put the trailer to use while he participated both days at Lucketts Fair. Congratulations and great job Jeff!
