July 2008 Members of the Month - Anthony Mino and John Palm
July has 2 members of the month for their shared contributions to the “new and improved” probationary manual. Anthony Mino and John Palm are July’s member of the month.

Anthony, aka Tony, Mino joined the Loudoun County Volunteer Rescue Squad in December of 2007. He has one sibling, an older sister named Christine. She is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force stationed at the Pentagon. Tony’s significant other is Dirk, who has a 21 year old son named Shane. Tony was raised in New Milford, Connecticut. He attended the University of Connecticut in 1987 obtaining a BS in Physics. He then attended the University of North Dakota in 1991 graduating with an MS in Space Studies. Tony spent 10 years on active duty with the US Air Force. His most notable job is as an ICBM Launch Officer (the guy that pushes the button to launch a nuclear weapon). He is currently employed at Lockheed Martin as a Systems Engineer. Tony is a Thursday night crew member. During his 7 months at Loudoun Rescue ,. He successfully obtained his Virginia EMT Basic, has been cleared as a Loudoun County EMT B AIC, and is a part of the People Vital. What free time Tony has he can be found doing home improvement, SCUBA diving or cooking.

John Palm joined the Loudoun County Volunteer Rescue Squad in November of 2006. He was born in Taiwan but was raised in Warrentown, Virginia. John attended Carnegie Mellon and earned a Masters Degree in Engineering (EEE). He is currently employed by Applied Security where he is a software and hardware designer. John has been married to his wife, Nancy, going on 4 years, July 10th. They have two cats, Apollo and Starbucks. John enjoys board gaming and role playing with groups of friends. He also plays the guitar, and according to Nancy is a “great cook”. John is a Friday night crew member. His accomplishments included becoming a released Loudoun County EMT B AIC, released ambulance driver, a member of the people vital, and last but not least, our station representative to the Recruitment and Retention Committee at the county.
